The event done by the Journal Club featured a guest lecture by Mr. Srinivasan Thanukrishnan, the CTO and Director of Glosys Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd on "Recent Trends and Issues in Computational Genomics and Drug Discovery". His expertise and insights provided students with a valuable learning opportunity, offering an in-depth understanding of the latest advancements in these critical areas of research and technology.
Networking Narratives
"Networking Narratives" marked the inauguration of the Biotechnology Department's Journal Club's social media platforms. Our Dean Dr. Johanna Rajkumar inaugurated Bionexus, the first webpage among college clubs in REC. Our respected HOD Dr. M. Sankar initiated Biominds Connections on LinkedIn, fostering professional networking. Our Faculty memeber Dr. T. A. Selvakaumar inaugurated JC's Digest on YouTube, promoting scholarly discourse. These platforms signify the club's dedication to innovation, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination within the biotech community.
BIOLENS- Photography event
An event which brings out both the creativity and knowledge towards stream of biotechnology. The event mainly focuses on the pictures captured by the students and the way they are going to present their works. The pictures presented by students have to be mainly related to stream of biotechnology and life sciences. Among the participants while presenting the works through the pictures , their way of expressing the pictures and innovative ideas will be brought out. Along with the pictures that they are going to present , they also have to give a 2 line short caption for the pictures.
Journal club 2024 Investiture Ceremony
In the investiture ceremony of the Biotechnology Department's Journal Club for the 2024 academic year, Dean Dr. Johanna Rajkumar and Head of Department Dr. M. Sankar presided. The event honored outstanding faculty coordinators and appointed new club officials. Attendees celebrated academic excellence and the club's commitment to advancing research and collaboration within and outside the department.
